Since I've slowed down on this blog, I've gained about 25 pounds, I stopped using the Mary Kay face care line and my face shows the results, and I've stopped dressing as well. I feel like crap. I just got very busy, and stressed, and all that stuff just seemed to fall by the wayside. It's been even worse in the 3 weeks since we moved. I didn't wear make up until two full weeks were up, and went I put it on I FINALLY felt like myself. So, once I get a bank account up here I've found a place to get MK cheap, and I'm looking into places to get my hair permed again. When they tell you that your hair will be permed until they cut it off, they are full of bs. It uncurls. I MISS having it be pretty with minimal effort. It looks like crap no matter what now!
So, this is the plan: by the middle of next week, I'll finish getting our place put together, and then there will be even less of an excuse than there is now for looking like a slob all the time. Instead of talking about buying new clothes... well, I'm not sure what we'll talk about. Weight loss strategies? Make up? Hair? All sorts of things. I'm trying to recommit myself, if you're along for the ride!
As I get ready to start life in the big city and start law school, I want to start looking the part. I have finally gotten to the point where I have a good handle on my make up and am beginning to understand my hair. Most importantly, I've realized that I'm the only one who sees the size tag on my clothes, and I'm learning to pick the best items for me. Help me get a new wardrobe and get rid of the worst things from the old!

Sounds like a good plan! I'm finding, in a quest similar to yours, that it really helps to have small goals. Like get below the 175 marker on the scale. I dont care, just move you little needle! :-) Also, fit into the size ten jeans I bought, or lose another inch off my waist. All little goals I am working on. As you change size and shape, get temporary, affordable clothing options so that you look good and feel better about yourself. Also, make it a goal to "make yourself up" every day, i.e. shower, hair, makeup, and accessories. Makes a HUGE difference!

Welcome back! Don't worry abut this momentary setback - you're beautiful inside and out! Just go in baby steps and make sure to reward yourself along the way.
